Abstract
The article examines the word house in the Essay of G.K. Kotoshikhin «About Russia in the reign of Alexei Mikhailovich». When considering the peculiarities of the use of the specified word in the text of the work established that smilacaceae the analyzed units based on positiveaction characteristic. Token house is not characteristic of the business style, however, the introduction of the author in the text of the work testifies to the originality of the work Kotoshikhin and his knowledge of various spheres of life of society.
