Abstract
The present article observes the semantic evolution of the toponym Rublyovka. Figurative meanings of this toponym have been identified on the basis of the analysis of its usage in Russian media and Internet communication acts, which enables us to draw a conclusion that a commonly known geographical name may perform the function of social separation.
