- Abstract
- In the article an author studies an Old Russian hagiographic record dedicated to the life of Euphrosyne of Polotsk. Special attention is paid to revealing the princess's image which is a sample of nun's sainthood. The ideal image is made mostly due to a composition and poetic means such as a structural canon, peculiarities of artistic space and time, toposes, parallelism, abstraction, simile, epithets, metaphors, quotations from the Holy Scripture.
