- Abstract
- The article considers Karamzin’s «Letters.» as the first experience of the artistic method that has the focus of appreciation of the world belonging not to a single person, but being shared by numerous members of artistic reality, whose interrelationships determine genre-stylistic particularity of the literary work. Implementation of this method is analyzed using such structural sections as plot, composition, system of characters, and style. The model of relationships between «Me» and «Others» presented in the writing provided the outlines of a novel type of a cultured individual that had predetermined the universal, «oecumenical» nature of Russian literature.
