- Abstract
The study is devoted to the use of comparative constructions by native speaker of the Russian language. The frequency of resort to a given linguistic device makes it possible to assert that the operation of comparisons is a need for a linguistic personality. The reasons for the popularity of the comparison lie in its linguistic essence: clarity of semantics and form, rich possibilities in creating original statements, ability to be a tool for evaluation and humor, free and effective combined with other linguistic means.
