- Abstract
- The article offers an interdisciplinary study of Leonid Andreev's diaries. The author demonstrates that the writer's diary entries of various years performed the function of psychological compensation, helped their author to construct his own identity, and serve as his artistic laboratory. The article establishes a “genetic” connection of the writer's diaries with his artistic work at the level of plot, style, and confessional autobi- ographism, which, during the era of modernism, became the key literary projection of the concept of becoming.
