Abstract

The article analyzes the historical and cultural content of the memorials of the city of Quebec, associated with a historical event or historical figure with additional information about this object. On the one hand, such information is institutionalized in the toponyms of Canada, and on the other, it is represented through secondary nomination, unofficial toponyms or nicknames of Quebec city space objects. In both cases, the initial event or image is conserved by the collective memory of Quebec francophones, which have become an important component of their national identity.
