Abstract
The article discusses the semantic processes in computer terminology, because there is a controversy on the question of the admissibility or inadmissibility of semantic processes such as polysemy, homonymy, synonymy in terminology. Terminology specialists of various terminological schools around the world until today did not reached a consensus on this issue, some specialists are convinced of the presence of these processes, the others reject these processes thinking that they are not relevant to the basic requirements of the terms (uniqueness). The article confirms the view that the practice of terminology proves the inevitability of the existence of those linguistic processes that are characteristic of common language.
Keywords
Term, terminology, semantic processes, synonymy, homonymy, antonymy, polysemy, expansion and contraction values.
