- Abstract
- The article focuses on the problems of naming strategy of the characters of holy fools in the works of F.M. Dostoevsky and N.S. Leskov. These classics of the XIX century was interested in the phenomenon of foolishness in world culture and reflected it in their works. The analysed characters - holy fools - belong to the secondary category and reflect the characteristic features of the spiritual and social sphere of Russian society, contemporaries of which both writers were. The analysis of the anthroponymic structure of the heroes of the selected texts of Dostoyevsky and Leskov has shown that the names of holy fools are semantic and reflect the real name of the epoch.
