Abstract
The article is devoted to the study of the folklore foundations of the theme of Moscow in the work of the great poet of the early 19th century F.N. Glinka. The significance of the events of the Patriotic War of 1812 for understanding the theme of Moscow is revealed. Parallels are drawn between folklore and author's understanding of the image of Moscow.
