- Abstract
- The article examines the discrepancies in the transliteration of Japanese realities into Russian by specialists in the Japanese language, on the one hand, and by non-specialists, on the other hand. Special attention is given to the transliteration system developed by E.D. Polivanov, which seems to be the most successful version of the Cyrillic records of Japanese words.
