In Russian traditional culture, the relationship between the world of plants and the world demonological characters have several aspects. Using materials of Russian folk dialects, the author of the article considers the names of a group of plants that are not used in the national economy, but, according to beliefs, they were indispensable in magic, and folk ideas about their magical properties are reflected in their names.
