- Abstract
In the paper for the first time in scientific literature onomasticon in Cantemir’s satires is considered from systematic point of view. Variety, interchangeability and apparent randomness of choice of characters’ names create the atmosphere of carnival and upside down world of satire. Some ways of future investigation of satires’ onomasticon in light of its connection with forthcoming Russian poetry are suggested in the paper.
