- Abstract
In this article are analysed possible etymologies of Russian dialect word grasovyak ‘small forest birds’ and made conclusion that this word came from the French gris(е) ‘grey’. For the confirmation of this thought author shows some another lexemes with this root (greset, graset, grasetovy, grasovie, grisetka) and on the base of their meaning is convinsed that all they came from this French word with different shade of meaning.
