Abstract

The aesthetic speech concept of Professor V. I. Konkov and candidate. philol. sciences I. A. Mitrofanova presented in the book "Style of artistic speech" (M.: Publishing center "Academy", 2016) is analyzed.  The essence of the author's approach is in the synthesis of the functional stylistics, semantics, literary,  cultural, semiotics, discourse studies ideas and the rejection of the separate linguistic and literary analysis of aesthetic speech. Authors present their own, original concept. The categories of the language imagery and its lexical and syntactic sources; resources of details; the author's and someone else's speech as a text opposition; comparison and conceptual metaphor from the perspective of the semantic differences; intertextuality as a manifestation of the language dialogicality are discussed. The final Chapter analyzes the main artistic styles of our time – realism and postmodernism.
