- Abstract
- Based on the analysis of the results of sociological studies of parents enrolled in additional education programs, the article presents children's leisure activities of two generations of Russians: modern parents (generation “X” – the year of birth from 1960 to 1980) and their children – (generation "Z” – year of birth 2001 – 2020). Comparison of leisure activities of parents and leisure of their children is characterized by the fact that the younger generation has strengthened orientation for artistic creativity, physical education and sports. The share of tourism and military-Patriotic activities has not changed significantly, but foreign language classes and research activities have become more common. In the total amount of children's free time, the share of crafts and social activities has decreased. The study shows that the infrastructure conditions for leisure activities among current children have also changed somewhat – there was an institutional reorganization of free time, re-designating the classes themselves as educational. At the same time, the share of clubs in schools and kindergartens has significantly decreased.
