Abstract

One of the key problems of the sociology of religion is the lack of consensus on the criteria of religiosity. The authors criticize one of the most well-known Methods for determining Orthodox religiosity: V. F. Chesnokova's churchiness ("B-index") from the qualitative and quantitative side. Methods of adjusting the sociological tools for measuring Church membership are proposed.
