Abstract
The article examines the models of reforms and the results of their implementation in two great neighboring countries that belong to different types of civilizations, but have a lot in common. And this is common not only in the fact that both of them went through a long stage of building socialism, but also in the mentality of two great peoples who are inclined to messianism. The results of the reforms were so different primarily because the Chinese reformers led by a talented and experienced statesman Deng Xiaoping themselves created a model of reforms based on the principle of comparative advantages, gradualism, the creation of a new economy, postponing the future of corporatization and privatization of state property. In Russia, on the other hand, a young team of inexperienced reformers has implemented the model of reforms created in the United States, based on four postulates: price reduction, reduction of public spending, mass and as fast as possible privatization of state property and liberalization of foreign economic relations. The result is sad. If China has made an industrial revolution during the years of reforms, then in Russia has been deindustrialized, and we have changed places with China.
