- Abstract
- The article analyzes traditionalist attitudes in state, demographic and religious discourses in Ukraine. The low standard of living of Ukrainian families with children as the main reason for the decline in the birth rate is hypocritically masked by demographers, government officials and religious activists solely by the reluctance of women to have children with a nostalgic appeal to “eternal values and national traditions”.
