- Abstract
- The article deals with the German, first of all, Hegel's, philosophy influence on the formation of Russian thought. The special attention is paid to the renowned Russian Hegelian Nikolai Strakhov, who influenced philosophical views of Dostoyevsky and Tolstoy. The analysis of correspondence between Strakhov and Tolstoy not only exposes the latter's attitude to Hegel and all German classical philosophy but demonstrates as well the specificity of philosophical conception by Tolstoy, which was founded for his ethics and axiological foundations.
