- Abstract
- The sociocultural factors of the initial stage of mass analgesia diffusion in Europe are considered. The author analyzes extensive anthropological material from the 19th century cultural history and shows the social groups and collective requirements that influenced the introduction of anesthetics into everyday life of Europeans. The global existential implications of the process of body's pharmacological control are described.
