- Abstract
- The author analyses a tendency in the Russian-Bulgarian relations in the late nineteenth and three fi rst decades of the twentieth centuries, which found its manifestation in the use of diplomatic archival documents in order to attain certain political goal. The article focuses on the policy of the Russian Empire regarding Bulgaria on the eve of her liberation and during the fi rst decades of independence. The archival documents were designed to provide certain sort of justifi cation of political positions both of Bulgaria and Russia/ USSR.
