Abstract
The current state and prospects for interaction between the EU and the U.S. can be better understood on the basis of consideration of American bilateral relations with leading countries of European integration. In this regard, the analysis of modern German-American relations, undertaken in the article, reflects the new approaches to this theme, since the author justifies the thesis about Germany being a new bridge between the EU and the U.S. He also gives high characteristics to the FRG participa tion in shaping a future model of transatlantic relations, describes a possible, in his opinion, scenario of their further development. Evaluating these processes might be of high importance for Russia's geopolitical strategy, and also serve as a verifying means to confirm if the adopted heading was correct.
