Аннотация
В статье анализируется современное состояние борьбы США с исла­мистской террористической организацией ИГИЛ в очень противоречивом регионе - на Ближнем Востоке, показывается идейный раскол между демократами и республиканцами по этому вопросу и неэффективность антитеррористической стратегии Б. Обамы. Авторы также рассматривают начало процесса вовлечения России в воздушную войну против террористов в Сирии и полагают, что сегодня возможно налаживание минимально необходимого взаимодействия Москвы и Ва­шингтона для параллельной и одновременной борьбы с терроризмом.
